Lyme Controversy
Published by: anonym 2009-01-07

Its hard to see a disease which caused as much controversy as Lyme did. Mostly it is because Lyme can cause nearly every known symptom, but main reason is - as usual - money. Alot of people found out that selling the cure against lyme might be great businnes. In middle ages one might buy medicine against everything - vampire strikes, bad karma, magic, sins. Everything people want to pay for was for sale. Nowadays people pay for cure against Lyme, but at least 70 percent of them actually do not have the spirochetes.

When it comes to diagnose the Lyme Disease, its easy to find few signs that never appear in other malfunctions. First of all, life cycle of spirochetes cause symptoms to increase every 4 weeks. Reaction to antibiotics - using treatment always cause very characteristic Herxheimer reaction, also known as herx. Western blot test nearly always shows infection, and even if its blind - after initial dose of antibiotics patient become IgM seropositive in week or two.

There is alot of other diseases that can imitate Lyme, some of them very common. Plain deficiency of magnesium, which affected more than 10% of population can cause random neural disorders, easily misdiagnosed as thick-borne disease. Same goes for deficiency of cyanocobalamin (vitamin B12). Malfunction of thyroid give signs so similar that every victim of Lyme reading about them would cry I had this one!. Parasites infection can be nasty, too.

Its very important to diagnose chronic Lyme properly, for few reasons. Therapy is very dangerous, strong antibiotics kills more people every year than this disease since beginning of manhood. It might be especially deadly for people with weak organism, devastated by other malfunction. Also use antibiotics decrease our defence against viral and infections, which might be fatal.
